Co-Founder, Sybarite
Simon Mitchell started his architectural career at Future Systems, where he met Torquil McIntosh. In 2002 Simon & Torquil co-founded Sybarite, with their shared vision to rewrite the retail, hospitality, and lifestyle design playbook. Known for his collaborative leadership, Simon has been instrumental in shaping Sybarite’s culture, where creativity and innovation remain central.
Under his direction, Sybarite has delivered more than 2,800 projects worldwide, from monobrands to masterplans, with clients including LVMH, Marni, Ferrari, SKP, and SKP-S. The repositioning of the Chinese regional shopping mall into luxury brand SKP, secured its ranking as the world’s No.1 department store. While the creation of SKP-S set new global benchmarks in experiential retail, with landmark sites in Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, and Wuhan.
A regular contributor and opinion leader at conferences and industry forums, Simon champions thought-leadership – spearheading Sybarite’s The Future of Luxury Report (2019) and The Future of Experience Report (2025/26), with more to follow.
